Mission

The Society of Sheep and Beef Cattle Veterinarians provides support and resources for veterinarians who have a special interest in sheep and beef cattle.

We do this by:

  • enhancing the efficiency of the sheep and beef cattle industries and their roles in New Zealand's economy
  • ensuring that our veterinary contribution is effective and to the highest standard
  • supporting research in this field by offering scholarships and awards
  • enabling the profession to remain relevant, healthy and sustainable through proactive leadership and being the voice of sheep and beef cattle veterinarians in Aotearoa
  • sharing our wealth of specialist knowledge and collaborating with other organisations to distribute knowledge and advice.

Membership

Membership is available for NZVA members as part of their annual subscription fee. There are a few ways you can sign up: 

  • Choose Sheep and Beef Cattle as one of your special interest branches (SIBs) when you join the NZVA or renew your membership.
  • Log into the NZVA website, view your profile and select the 'Subscriptions' tab. Click the 'Apply a subscription' button and select 'Society of Sheep & Beef Cattle Veterinarians' from the dropdown menu.
  • Email membership@vets.org.nz if you have any questions.
