Accredited Employer Work Visa
The Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) is a new, temporary work visa. New Zealand employers wanting to hire migrant workers may be able to do so under the new scheme from 4 July.
Employers will need to apply for AEWV accreditation, even if they have been accredited under other systems, and must pay a fee to receive it.
Once the employer is accredited, Immigration New Zealand will check each job they want to provide to a migrant worker before the worker can apply for an AEWV. Jobs must be for more than 30 hours per week, pay the median wage, and comply with New Zealand’s employment standards and laws.
An AEWV may be granted for up to three years. Immigration NZ have said that a pathway to residency will be introduced later in 2022.

Green List
The AEWV complements the inclusion of veterinarians on the Government's Green List, which can provide a streamlined and prioritised pathway to residency. The Green List incentivises highly skilled workers to relocate to New Zealand long term.
