A position has become available for a keen, experienced companion animal veterinarian in a BESTPractice accredited clinic based in the south of Christchurch. We would be most interested in veterinarians who enjoy any combination of medicine, dentistry, and consulting. We have a good degree of flexibility in relation to the hours worked.

McMaster & Heap Veterinary Practice started in 1999 and is a family-owned business, employing a superb team of 12 veterinarians and 25 veterinary nurses. We are a very capable, close-knit team of hard-working veterinarians who collaborate well, are proud and are driven to help other people and pets.

We see referrals from all over Canterbury and the South Island in ophthalmology, ultrasonography, ECHO, chemotherapy, endoscopy, CSF taps and medicine taps.

We have a modern, beautifully designed, spacious practice which separates out canine and feline patients in terms of waiting areas, consulting areas, ICU, treatment areas and hospital wards. We also have a dedicated, extremely well-equipped surgical suite and adjoining theatre area. We have all the high-tech equipment to enable us to do the best possible job for our patients including a full IDEXX lab, digital DR radiography, IM3 dental radiography, ultrasound machines, endoscopy, full orthopaedic suite, radioactive iodine, two dental workstations, extensive anaesthetic monitoring equipment etc. Our veterinary software is EzyVet, and we operate Smartflow for all patient monitoring. 

We have a loyal, exceptionally well-motivated client base who wants to do the best for their pets. There is a scope for thorough diagnostic workups and deliverance of high-quality treatments and care.
