We are looking for an experienced mixed animal veterinarian
Join a purpose-driven, people and animal-focused team in the heart of the Central North Island.
Vetora Bay of Plenty is on the lookout for an experienced mixed animal veterinarian to join our well-established Rotorua team. If you're confident in both production and companion animal work and looking for a role with balance and variety, this could be the perfect fit for you.
At Vetora Bay of Plenty, we’re passionate about supporting our clients — both on-farm and in-clinic, creating a workplace where our people thrive. You’ll join a knowledgeable, down-to-earth team that works closely together across a broad range of production and companion animal services.
What the role involves:
- Living in a beautiful lifestyle orientated location – lakes, forests and world-renowned mountain biking tracks right on your doorstep.
- Working in a well-equipped, purpose-built clinic.
- Ongoing CPD and career development.
- Alternating between dedicated large animal and companion animal days — giving you variety without the pressure of switching focus throughout the day.
- Afterhours companion animal emergencies are referred to a specialist clinic.
- A shared large animal afterhours roster
- Competitive salary and benefits
What we’re looking for:
- A qualified mixed animal veterinarian with more than 3 years’ experience.
- A veterinarian confident working independently across both large and small animal cases.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and team mindset.
Why join us?
- The wellbeing of our staff, clients and animals is always our top priority.
- We’re building a practice where great people thrive.
- We’re focused on long-term value, not short-term gains.
- We’re a veterinary club, our profits are reinvested into our people, clinics and communities.
If you’re looking for a role where your skills, approach, and values are genuinely appreciated — and where you can make a meaningful impact every day — we’d love to hear from you.
