  • Enjoy variety and lifestyle!

Are you a veterinarian who thrives on delivering a high standard of care while working collaboratively with clients to meet the needs of both patient and owner?

Are you looking for a position where no two days are ever the same—where you can treat animals of all shapes and sizes and be part of a supportive team who have each other’s backs, enjoy a good laugh (and the occasional wine), and are genuinely committed to their patients, clients, and colleagues?

Do you want to enjoy a rural lifestyle close to stunning beaches and the Hauraki Gulf—while being just a stone’s throw from Auckland and all its social, sporting, and cultural experiences?

Then we have the perfect role for you!

Dairy Flat Vet Hospital is a well-established mixed practice with a large and growing client base. Our caseload is approximately 90% small animals and 10% lifestyle block and pleasure horses. One of our wonderful veterinarians is heading off on a great walking adventure and travel so we are looking for a mixed animal veterinarian who is passionate about practicing high-quality medicine—and having fun while doing it!

This position can be either full-time or part-time. We’re in no rush—thanks to excellent locum support, we’re happy to wait for the right person to join our team.

Dairy Flat Vet Hospital is part of the independently owned Veterinary Hospital Group, comprising 45+ veterinarians, including those with special interests and advanced training in surgery, internal medicine, feline medicine, dermatology, and ophthalmology. We offer a generous CPD allowance, regular group CPD sessions, and access to our Advanced Practitioner Pathway, which provides additional funding and study leave for further training.

We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive and positive work environment, with a friendly team dedicated to exceptional patient care.

Remuneration is based on experience and expertise, and includes:

  • NZ Veterinary Council and NZVA membership fees
  • A generous CPD allowance
  • Relocation assistance and visa support for international applicants

If you’re looking for a rewarding role in a team that values your growth, well-being, and work–life balance, we’d love to hear from you.
