VSA was started over 20 years ago with the first privately owned veterinary referral hospital in New Zealand. The position:

This is an exciting opportunity to enhance your veterinary career within a leading-edge team of specialists and veterinary nurses. Our purpose-built veterinary hospital in Christchurch, opened in 2021, is designed to deliver referral care for companion animals across the South Island. As a Hospital Veterinarian, you’ll play an integral role in providing exceptional care for our patients, their families and referring veterinarians working in close collaboration with our highly qualified nursing and specialist team.

We offer a comprehensive onboarding and training program led by our national in-house team, ensuring you have the support needed to thrive in a dynamic, stimulating environment. You’ll be working alongside a team of specialists on a diverse caseload, with the opportunity to grow your skills in a collaborative setting that promotes patient, and client care.

Requirements:

• Have 5+ years of clinical experience as a veterinarian
• Part-time availability (just under 31 hours) - be willing to work Monday - Wednesday
• Carry out urgent consults and facilitate hospitalised patient care.
• Have meticulous attention to detail
• Be self-motivated
• Possess excellent communication skills
• Collaborate well in a team environment
