About VSA:
Our mission at Veterinary Specialists Aotearoa (VSA) is to provide the most advanced, specialist veterinary care in the country. With that motivation, hard work and passion we have established ourselves as New Zealand’s leading specialist veterinary organisation. VSA was started over 20 years ago with the first privately owned veterinary referral hospital in New Zealand. From that first hospital in Mt Albert, Auckland, we now have three world class specialist and emergency hospitals across the country working to support the wider veterinary community and their patients. Every patient we see is regarded as an important member of their family, so we are proud to be able to provide the highest level of care when they need us the most.
At VSA, we offer a career path brimming with opportunities for learning and growth. Join our incredible team and become part of a hospital group dedicated to both personal and professional development.
The position:
To excel in this role, you will be an empathetic and clear communicator who enjoys working with a diverse range of clients and collaborating within a dynamic clinical team. You will manage emergency cases within our 24/7 hospitals and work with our specialist teams to provide care for their patients out of hours. Your passion for providing exceptional care for clients and their pets will drive your life-long commitment to professional and personal growth. This part time role is best suited to an experienced clinician who can join our weekend day hospital emergency veterinarian roster. We also have vacancies within our casual team of emergency veterinarians.
Why Choose VSA?
- You'll be well looked after financially, with a salary that reflects both your experience and the contribution you make.
- Your time outside of work matters — expect a steady, predictable roster.
- We’ll make sure your first weeks go smoothly, starting with a thoughtful and thorough induction process to help you settle in.
- You’ll be joining a welcoming and supportive team where people genuinely enjoy working together and helping each other grow.
- We invest in your learning with access to external CPD resources, a team-specific CPD budget, and regular in-house training to keep your skills sharp.
- Each day brings something new — you’ll see a wide mix of cases and work with a broad client base, so things never feel repetitive.
