Would you like to work in a well-established independently owned mixed animal practice with great collegial support but enough autonomy to develop the role and optimise your work-life balance? We require an experienced veterinarian with a small animal focus for a permanent position. The role can be full or part time.

We are a busy mixed animal clinic based in Masterton and currently employ seven veterinarians and two techs. One of our senior veterinarians is heading off to the big smoke so we are looking to find a permanent replacement.

Are you a highly motivated individual who is:

• A great communicator with excellent people skills.
• Passionate about all aspects of small animal practice.
• Experienced with at least 1-2 years in a companion animal or mixed animal role.
• Friendly and enjoys being part of a team-orientated approach to practice.

The companion animal department is well equipped with in-house biochem and haematology, imagyst, digital radiology, IM3 dental machine, ultrasound, fluid pumps, Bair huggers, four consult rooms, two surgical suites and anaesthetic monitoring equipment.

Salary package is negotiable and based on experience. We have a generous CPD allowance and cover NZVA membership and VCNZ registration. We also offer a day off in lieu after a duty weekend and birthday leave.

Our after-hours roster is shared equally and the majority of the calls are companion animal. We do not provide equine services and get less than a dozen production animal after hours call outs per year. Our farm clients are almost exclusively sheep and beef and we have a growing number of lifestylers. If you do not have mixed animal experience we can arrange for PA cover from another experienced vet when you are on call. We have rostered nursing staff support after hours as well as being able to refer to MUVTH.
