About the role:

We're seeking an experienced veterinarian to join our Dunedin team. You'll manage a small clinic with a veterinary nurse, delivering high-quality care to animals under SPCA's protection. Support will be provided by our Head Veterinarian in Christchurch.

Enjoy a varied caseload in a dedicated, compassionate team without on-call duties. This is your chance to transition from private practice to shelter medicine, making a difference for New Zealand's animals in need.

Requirements:

• Qualified veterinarian with 1+ years' experience
• Confident in routine surgery and medicine' orthpaedic experience is a plus
• Strong communication skills and confident in making difficult decisions
• Strong time management, organisation, planning, and budget management skills
• Experience with various animals (domestic, socialised, and wildlife)
• Empathy for SPCA's mission; shelter medicine experience preferred but not required
