About the role:
As a lead general practice veterinarian in our well-established small animal clinic, you'll enjoy a variety of interesting cases with a great balance of consults, medicine, and surgery. You'll play a key role in managing the clinic, working closely with our practice manager to foster teamwork and maintain high clinical standards.
While the majority of your role will be cliical, you'll also handle tasks critical to the clinic's success, such as rostering, interviewing, mentoring, regulatory compliance, and driving initiatives and modern dental equipment, and ultrasound.
Our clinic is well-equipped with an in-house laboratory (IDEXX), endoscopy, digital radiograpy, extensive and modern dental equipment, and ultrasound.
- Full-time position: With flexibility for a 4-day week and plenty of flexibility on rostered hours and days.
- Shared weekend and light afterhours roster: With excellent additional afterhours remuneration. The recently opened Dunedin A/H clinic means no on-call during weekends, with extended coverage expected shortly. All on-call work is well remunerated, and calls are triaged by VetChat, so no unnecessary midnight phone calls!
- Visiting local ultrasonographic attending clinic as required.

What we're looking for:
- Experienced small animal veterinarian: Either an experienced leader or someone with the ambition and drive to step into a leadership role. Comfortable with both consults and surgery, and some sole charge.
- Qualifications: BVSc or equivalent and Veterinary Council of New Zealand registered.
- Strong communicator: With a passion for mentorship and developing a strong team.
- Team player: Eager to contribute to our positive clinic culture.
