Organisation/clinic: Peninsula Bay Veterinary Hospital

Location: Whangaporoa, Auckland

Position type: Companion Animal Veterinarian

Website: https://www.vethospital.co.nz/

Fancy a walk on the beach at lunchtime? Then we have a role for you!!!

What we can offer:

  • Location, location, location - this role is based on the Whangaporoa Peninsula - close enough to Auckland so that you can enjoy all the sporting and cultural pursuits that the big city has to offer while being a stone's throw from many gorgeous Pohutukawa lined beaches and the beautiful Hauraki Gulf, perfect for relaxation and recreation. A bonus, accommodation is more cost effective here than in the central city!
  • Flexibility - we recognise that work-life balance and integration look different for everyone. This role could be full-time (over 4 or 5 days) or part-time depending on what you are looking for. There is flexibility with days worked and shift times to suit your lifestyle and family commitments.
  • This role could be completely based at our Peninsula Bay clinic, or our nearby Silverdale clinic which is a busy 3 veterinarian clinic with an excellent fun experienced supportive staff.
  • You will be part of the Veterinary Hospital Group team. The VHG is a privately owned group practice. We value practising a high standard of medicine and advocacy for our patients, developing collaborative and supportive relationships with our clients and the care, growth, and development of our staff. Senior leadership are all veterinarians and veterinary nurses who also work within the group as clinicians. This means we have a unique understanding of issues within clinics and profession and do not hesitate to 'get our hands dirty' to help.
  • Within the group there are 30+ veterinarians including those with special interests and advanced training in surgery, imaging, internal medicine, and ophthalmology. There is a generous baseline CPD allowance, frequent group CPD, and the potential to enter our "advanced practitioner pathway" where additional funding and time off to study can be provided.
  • Weekend work is 1:4 with an option for time off in lieu after a weekend of work. No on-call work is required.

What we are looking for:

  • There is some sole charge required in this role, therefore we are after someone with some experience who will be comfortable working sole charge (with excellent veterinary nursing support) at times.
  • We value team-based approach with positive staff keen to grow and develop their knowledge and skills - if you have got the right attitude, we are keen to help grow the rest!
