Update on Pentobarb 500
Published on 29 June 2023.
Provet has provided an update on their previous letter about possible potency issues with Pentobarb 500.
In a letter dated 29 June 2023, Provet confirmed that testing has been completed on the part packs directly involved and on unbroached packs from the same batches. In all cases, the results confirmed that all tested products were within the required technical specifications. Thus, it has been confirmed that the reported
apparent inefficacy has not been caused by reduced levels of active ingredient in the batches that
have been the subject of the investigation.
Advice received to date supports that existing product is fit for purpose. Additionally, Provet NZ has
received new stock which is now available for purchase as required.
For further information, please contact Adam Morris (adam.morris@covetrus.com) or any of the Provet team.
