Cyclone Gabrielle: Allocation of funding
Published on 7 July 2023.
When Cyclone Gabrielle struck New Zealand in February 2023, the New Zealand Veterinary Association (NZVA) supported affected clinics both emotionally and financially.
This work was funded by the NZVA reserve funds, the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) cyclone relief fund, and generous donations from members, industry partners and the public.
To give you an idea of where your money went during this time, we have produced a report detailing the income and expenditure generated during our response to Cyclone Gabrielle.
Download the Cyclone Gabrielle funding report.
We are in the process of submitting an expression of interest (EOI) to the recently announced additional relief fund of $34 million, on behalf of clinics in regions likely to be affected by extreme weather events in the future.
We will share more information once a decision has been made about our expression of interest.
