The NZVA is the largest community of veterinary professionals in Aotearoa New Zealand. We run student events throughout the year so you can network with practising veterinary professionals and learn about new opportunities in the industry. Student members can attend:
VetLaunch: an opportunity for students in their second year of study to learn more about the NZVA and the path to becoming a veterinarian in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Crossroads: an interactive event where third year veterinary students can meet veterinarians working in different fields and learn about the diverse career opportunities that await them after graduation.
Prelude to Practice: a seminar to help fifth year veterinary students transition into their new career with talks from recent graduates and NZVA members.
In Practice: a chance for new graduates to reflect on their first six months in practice and work through any challenges or concerns with fellow classmates.

I recommend that veterinarians join NZVA because it’s a great way to engage meaningfully across the whole profession, improving communication and understanding of where we are all at despite the vast array of roles we cover... It’s rewarding to be part of an organisation that unites us and represents us when and where it needs to.
– James Laidlaw
