A veterinarian role with a difference!
Are you looking for a unique opportunity to work as a mixed new graduate veterinarian alongside like-minded veterinarians and rural professionals? We’ve got just the position that you’ve been looking for – read on.
Keinzley AgVet is a small, family-based, and progressive company located in the beautiful Wairarapa. Our business includes a companion animal clinic in Masterton, a production animal clinic, and a rural supplies business that services farmers across the Wairarapa region. We’re proudly celebrating 30 years in business and are looking for another veterinarian to help support our business growth.
We have a fun team that enjoy their work and support each other with cases big or small. Come and see practice with us to experience our team environment and varied case load. Our small animal clinic is equipped with x-ray, in-house blood analysers, and a purpose-built surgical suite. The production animal side is split fairy 50:50 sheep and beef to dairy work, this can be tailored to your interest. We enjoy working with our motivated client base on the forefront of animal health. Dairy clients are 350-550 cows on average, most are owner-operator. Our large sheep and beef client base ranges from studs, intensive finishing, to extensive coastal stations.
Our 2022 new graduate enjoys:
- Easy integration into a flexible after-hours roster (when you’re ready)
- Mixed practice flexible to your interests (small animal including orthopaedics, dairy, sheep, and beef)
- Good support from all staff
- Experienced veterinary nurse team on call with you
We currently employ five veterinarians plus locums and 20 other support staff including technical farm advisors. We have a friendly and rewarding team environment where our people are very much our focus. Our leadership team includes very experienced companion animal veterinarians, and an enthusiastic production animal team with good client relationships. We are offering strong mentorship and support from our veterinarians, farm advisors, and our support staff. Open learning and CPD development will be actively encouraged and strongly supported. You might be interested in broadening your knowledge of whole farm systems (dairy, sheep, beef). If so, you’ll be surrounded by just the right people. Seven technical farm advisors work alongside our farmer clients providing whole-farm systems support including pasture and crop advice, agronomy support and all aspects of farm supplies.
We are based in the stunning Wairarapa, which provides a variety of recreational activities with close proximity to the Tararua and Ruahine ranges and extensive coastlines including the popular holiday destination Castlepoint. The wine region of Martinborough and short commute to Wellington ensure there is something here for everyone.
With an above average salary package, a 4WD vehicle (with all clinical equipment), laptop, and smartphone provided for professional and private use, and very affordable house pricing in a beautiful part of the country, we’d like to think that you’ll consider a role with us.
If this sounds like you, pick up the phone and call Phil Keinzley on 027 490 8265 to discuss this role in more detail, or please send your CV to pkeinzley@xtra.co.nz. Our 2022 graduate is happy to talk to potential candidates about the process of transitioning from a student to a confident new graduate here at Keinzley AgVet.
