In April 2025, the Complementary Veterinary Medicine Branch of the NZVA hosted an inspiring veterinary acupuncture lecture by renowned Chicago veterinarian Dr Barbara Royal DVM, CVA, CVNN, FACVBM.
Barbara’s wealth of knowledge and experience, especially with unusual special like meerkats, elephant, camels and zebra, as well as her practical approach and passion for helping to facilitate fulfilling careers for veterinarians was a delight to attend.
Complementary therapies like acupuncture are an invaluable resource to help improve patient outcomes as well as client and job satisfaction. Additionally, they often have a lower carbon footprint than many other treatment options.
You can download Barabara's presentation slides below. A recording of the lecture will be available soon.
